Biography:
VAST is an American alternative rock band based in Austin, Texas. The acronym VAST stands for Visual Audio Sensory Theater and is the main creation of singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jon Crosby. The current lineup consists of Jon Crosby, Michael Austinmoore, Ben Fenton, Tabber Millard, Sam Moses and Adam Rebeske. At the beginning, the band contained only Jon Crosby. His music was original, as it encompassed elements of industrial/alternative (Nine Inch Nails) and ambient, with unpredictable samples added. He released several demos under the name VAST. VAST was signed to Elektra, and released the debut Visual Audio Sensory Theater in mid-1998. Two years later, Crosby hooked up with producer Blumpy and a band made up of guitarist Justin Cotta, bassist Thomas Froggatt and drummer Steve Clark to create the 2000 release Music for People. After Elektra Records terminated VAST's contract due to poor sales of their second album, Crosby signed his band to his own 2blossoms. Since 1998 of their debuting, they have released five studio albums.
